Our Collective Experience

Pedro Santos
CEO & Founder
Andalusian Energy
Pedro Santos founded Andalusian Energy in 2016 and serves as the company’s CEO. He is a world-renowned expert in gas logistics and processing technology and holder of critical intellectual property related to industrial gases including natural gas and hydrogen. An MIT graduate, he was cited by Forbes 30 under 30 for “outstanding people in the energy sector” as a result of his development of innovative technology to lower costs in the natural gas supply chain. For more than a decade, Pedro has been focused on bringing Natural Gas to underserved markets throughout Latin America and the Caribbean basin via cost-effective innovations delivered by the proprietary technologies offered by Andalusian. A native of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, he resides in California’s San Francisco Bay area.
Our team operates as a single hive of expertise, bringing well over a century of combined experience in power generation, natural gas, LNG and critical infrastructure. Together, we cover the full energy value chain: from upstream and midstream gas logistics, through LNG liquefaction and regasification, to gas-to-power plants, transmission networks, and marine fuel solutions for underserved markets.
Across our careers, we have helped deliver hundreds of megawatts of new generation capacity, high-voltage transmission lines, LNG import and regasification terminals, industrial gas supply systems, and virtual pipeline concepts on four continents.
This includes integrated gas-to-power developments in challenging environments, regional infrastructure programs in Central and South America, and fast-track LNG and gas logistics projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Our experience spans both land-based terminals and floating solutions, with teams that have overseen terminal commissioning, port operations, fleet management and long-term O&M under demanding safety and environmental standards.
The team’s pedigree reflects senior roles at leading industrials, utilities, maritime operators, and infrastructure developers. Collectively, we have held leadership and technical positions at companies such as Excelerate Energy, WaveCrest Energy (a subsidiary of Macquarie Capital), MAN Energy Solutions and Siemens.
Our engineers and project managers have led LNG regasification and import projects from early concept and FEED through detailed engineering, EPC coordination, commissioning and operations.
They have designed and implemented:
-
Cryogenic systems involving LNG tanks, pumps and vaporizers;
-
Natural-gas bunkering solutions for marine vessels
-
Advanced marine CNG and virtual-pipeline logistics concepts.
In parallel, our power-sector specialists have stewarded the development of integrated gas-to-power projects that combine generation assets, transmission infrastructure and regulatory frameworks into coherent, bankable platforms.
Complementing this technical depth is strong financial, commercial and regulatory capability. Our finance and development professionals have structured equity investments and infrastructure platforms, led due diligence on complex LNG and power transactions, and built advanced financial models covering LNG-to-power, regasification, multimodal gas distribution and integrated gas-and-power value chains.
Their work has supported acquisitions of major distribution utilities, the design of institutional infrastructure funds, and the preparation of investment cases and presentations for export credit agencies, international investors and public-sector stakeholders.
We also bring recognized thought leadership: Members of our team hold multiple international patents and have authored peer-reviewed publications and are regularly invited to speak at international energy conferences on topics ranging from decarbonizing regional power systems to deploying virtual marine logistics for cleaner fuels.
This combination of hands-on delivery and forward-looking innovation allows us to design solutions that work in today’s markets while preparing for tomorrow’s fuels and regulations.
What this means for our partners is simple: when you work with us, you don’t just engage a company—you tap into a coordinated hive of developers, engineers, operators and financiers who know how to take complex energy ideas from first sketch to investment-grade reality, and then keep them running safely and efficiently over the long term.

Our Work
Below you can find a small selection of the numerous projects, the members of our team helped creating. Our Exprts were part of the companies and teams who have made these tremendous structures possible. Today these projects serve countless people all over the globe with stable and affordable gas supply.

01
FSRU Bangladesh
Located offshore in the Bay of Bengal in challenging environmental conditions, members of our Executive Team had to apply design ingenuity and creativity to ensure the proper functionality and safety of the 140,000 cbm FSRU.
This was a critical project to support power generation and commercial & residential gas supply to balance a reduced local gas production
This was a fast-track project, as there was a narrow window to complete the installation before the start of the monsoon season

Northeast USA FSRU
This 150,000 cbm facility was installed on the North American East Coast to provide the region with natural gas during the critical peak winter season.
Designed for consistent performance in extreme open sea conditions, this FSRU based import facility was installed and commissioned in 15 months.
The challengin part was the complex mooring arrangement and subsea tie-in in difficult environmental conditions while maintaining the integrity of several marine sanctuaries nearby

River FSRU Argentina
Built on a greenfield site located on the River, this 150,000 cbm facility required careful design and delivery considerations.
The gas is injected directly to the northern part of the regional pipeline grid where the demand exceeded pipeline capacity with very limited back up solutions.
Direct access to Argentina’s natural gas grid is required in the face of declining production and necessary to meet the increased demand during the southern winter.
The team helped to transform a remote undeveloped site to a functioning LNG import facility within nine months from finalizing the necessary agreements

Fast Track LNG Terminal Germany
In a most impressive effort, the team supported the only privately financed LNG solution in Germany, by taking the concept of an FSRU in Germany operating in time for the 2022/23 winter to an in-service in less than six months.
The shallow draft port required a unique infrastructure solution to ensure rapid delivery of LNG to Germany for the critical winter season.
The FSRU is moored at shore in shallow water, with three SSLNGC providing shuttle service from an offshore floating storage unit.
